Hopfer, 83, Johnstown, died April 27, 2005, at Memorial Medical Center. Born April 14, 1922, in Johnstown. Daughter of the late Otto and Carolyn (Bingell) Luttringer. Preceded in death by husband Philip; brother Cloyd; and sisters Mary DeLeeuw, Mildred Stover and Nona Lingle. Survived by sons, Dr. Joseph P. Karwoski, with whom Mrs. Hopfer resided; Jerry Hopfer and fiancˇe, Trish Honeycutt, both of Johnstown; and daughters, Saundra, Esq., wife of John Frankowski, Pittsburgh; Sharon, wife of Dante Petrocelli, Friedens; and Gail Hopfer, Windber. Also survived by daughter-in-law Joanie (Gebhardt) Hopfer, Pittsburgh. Mrs. Hopfer was a published poet, and traveled the world as well as all over the United States. She sang with the Johnstown Symphony Chorus, was an avid candy maker, graduated from Johnstown High School and loved the outdoors/wildlife and all animals. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Geisel Funeral Home-Dale. A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday in the Geisel-Devlin Memorial Chapel. The Rev.
