  HOPPES
  
    Charles W. Hoppes, 81, of 385 Rumson Drive, Harrisburg, formerly of
  Somerset, died Thursday, Aug. 24, 1995, at Harrisburg Hospital.  Survived
  by his wife, Ione H. Hoppes; two sons, Paul D. Hoppes of Richmond, Va.; D.
  Frank Hoppes II of Richmond, Va.; one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth H. Fellows of
  Macungie, Pa.; three grandchildren, two nephews, three nieces.  He was a
  turnpike engineer.  Member of the American Legion, Highway Research Boards
  for several years, a charter member of the Faith United Church of Christ in
  New Cumberland, former member of the Fairview Township Fire Company. 
  Memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday at Zimmerman Auer Funeral
  Home, 4100 Jonestown Road, Harrisburg, with the Rev. Patricia Carque. 
  Memorial contributions may be sent to Faith United Church of Christ, Drexel
  Hills Blvd., New Cumberland, Pa. 17070.  Cremation arrangements by the
  Cremation Society of Pa., Harrisburg.
