Hoppes, 81, of 385 Rumson Drive, Harrisburg, formerly of Somerset, died Thursday, Aug. 24, 1995, at Harrisburg Hospital. Survived by his wife, Ione H. Hoppes; two sons, Paul D. Hoppes of Richmond, Va.; D. Frank Hoppes II of Richmond, Va.; one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth H. Fellows of Macungie, Pa.; three grandchildren, two nephews, three nieces. He was a turnpike engineer. Member of the American Legion, Highway Research Boards for several years, a charter member of the Faith United Church of Christ in New Cumberland, former member of the Fairview Township Fire Company. Memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday at Zimmerman Auer Funeral Home, 4100 Jonestown Road, Harrisburg, with the Rev. Patricia Carque.
