Hormell, 92, of Huntingdon Park RD 6, Mt. Pleasant, died Nov. 9, 1986, in Somerset Community Hospital. Born Oct. 15, 1894, in Uniontown, son of the late John W. and Elizabeth (Work) Hormell. He was a retired dentist, having practiced in Scottdale for 54 years. He was a life member of the Westmoreland County Dental Society, Pennsylvania Dental Society and American Dental Association and the Odontological Society. Veteran of World War I. Graduate of Uniontown High School Class of 1915 and University of Pittsburgh Dental School in 1926. Member of the St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church of Scottdale and the Scottdale American Legion Post No. 240 and World War I Barracks. Survived by two daughters: Mrs. Jay R. (Jean) Bittner of Somerset and Mrs. B. E. (Ruth) Rice of Acton, Mass.; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and one sister, Mrs. Mary Bewick, Merrillsville, Ind.; several nieces and one nephew. He was preceded in death by his wife Kathryn Kuhns Hormell, in 1977, and a daughter, Ann Hemp in 1980; and a brother, William, and two sisters, Ethel Bewick and Sarah Frost. Friends will be received at the Robert B. Ferguson Funeral Home, 105 Spring St., Scottdale, Pa., 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, where funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday with the Rev.
