     Daniel F. "Fred" Horne, 72, Middletown, N.J., died Sept. 21, 2007, at Riverview Medical
  Center, Red Bank, N.J. He was born in Somerset, lived in Shanksville, then moved to
  Middletown for the past 40 years ago. He was preceded in death by parents, Daniel and
  Charlotte Horne; brother, Taylor W. Horne; and sister, Norma Allison. Surviving are his
  wife of 55 years, Shirley Shockey Horne; son and daughter-in-law, Clair and Leota Horne,
  Middletown; daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and James Bennett, Leonardo, N.J.; son and
  daughter-in-law, Barry and Wendy Horne, Middletown; daughter and son-in-law, Karlene and
  Al Turi, Leonardo; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was a driver for
  Wilson Freight Co., Somerset, and retired from Hecht Trucking Co., Edison, N.J., after 27
  years and 2.5 million miles accident free in 1997. He was a member of member of King of
  Kings Lutheran Church, Middletown. And a member of Lodge 35 F&AM, Hoboken, N.J.
  Visitation will be held 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home,
  115 Tindall Road, Middletown. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at
  the funeral home. Burial will be at Fair View Cemetery, Middletown. John F. Pfleger
  Funeral Home, 115 Tindall Road, Middletown, is in charge of arrangements. Letters of
