  HORNE
  
    Merle Fred Horne, 59, of Schellsburg RD 1, formerly of Harvey, Ill., died
  May 9, 1979, at the home of his sister, Mrs. Ruth Diehl.  Born May 16, 1919,
  in Bedford County son of the late Merle and Myrtle (Suter) Horne.  Preceded
  in death by wife, Marie Horne in 1976, also two sisters and one brother.
  Survived by these brothers and sisters: Edith, wife of Clyde Hinson of Alum
  Bank RD; Mrs. James Kilmartin of Tyrone, Ruth, wife of Warren Diehl,
  Schellsburg RD; and Joseph Horne of San Pablo, Cal.  Mr. Horne was a retired
  employee of Hazelcrest Tire Company, Harvey, Ill., with 32 years of service.
  Army veteran of World War II and recipient of four Bronze Stars.  Member of
  VFW Post 1759 of Harvey, Ill., and member of Methodist Church.  Friends
  received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 Friday at Mikle-Geisel Funeral Home,
  Schellsburg  where services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday with the Rev.
  William Starr officiating.  Interment, Schellsburg Cemetery.  Graveside
  military rites by the Fort Bedford Honor Guard.
