Born Jan. 30, 1913, in Jenner Township. Son of the late George and Laura (Ankeny) Horner. Preceded in death by infant sisters, Lottie and Verda; sister Goldie Wegley, and stepbrother David N. Lape. Survived by his wife of over 60 years, Keturah Flick Horner; one son, Ronald George, married to the former Monica Neri, Somerset RD 2; nephew, David G. Lape, and nieces: Susan Lape Christner, Blanche Wegley Corbett and Loretta Wegley Saylor. Longtime employee of D.W. Rhoads Co. and former owner of the former C.M. Horner Company. Lifelong member of First United Methodist Church, Somerset, where he was a former treasurer, trustee, historian and Sunday school teacher. Former committee chairman of Boy Scout Troop 132. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the First United Methodist Church, the Rev. Arthur J. Gotjen officiating. Body will lie in state in the church from 10 a.m. until the hour of service. Interment, Beams Cemetery.
