Horner Sr., 72, of Jennerstown, died unexpectedly Aug. 2, 1987, in Somerset Community Hospital. Born Aug. 2, 1915, in Jenner Township, Somerset County, son of William C. and Savilla E. (Croyle) Horner. Preceded in death by parents; wife, the former Vera C. Johnson, died Nov. 19, 1970; brothers, Harry and Ira; sister, Dorothy Eppley; and infant twin sisters. Survived by these children: David W. Jr., married to former Mary Smith, Davidsville; Richard M., married to former Gail Kennell, Fredericksburg, Va.; Gerald R., married to former Judy C. Walsh, Rockwood; Bonnie Kay, wife of LeRoy Carroll, Jennerstown; nine grandchildren. Brother of: Louise, widow of Victor Sturtz, Wellersburg; Elmer, married to former Jane Johnson, Hollsopple RD 2; Ellen, wife of Alton Wolford, and Robert, married to former Nancy Blough, both of Boswell RD 1. Member of former Mt. Zion Lutheran Church and Operating Engineers Local No. 66, Monroeville. Veteran of World War II. Owned and operated Laurel Manor Motel, Jennerstown, since 1958. Friends received 7-9 p.m. Monday and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at Hoffman Funeral Home, Allegheny St., Boswell. Service at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Laurel Trinity Lutheran Church, Jennerstown, the Rev.
