Born July 6, 1926, in Jefferson Township, Somerset County a son of Harry Franklin and Annie Florence (Forney) Horner. Preceded in death by parents; sisters, Stella, Elsie and Gladys Horner and Alice Zimmerman; brother Charles E. Horner. Survived by wife, the former Helen Clarissa (Gardner) to whom he was married 30 years; children: Donald D. Horner, married to the former Allyson Mullen, Somerset; Suzanne J. Horner, Stuarts Draft, Va.; Roy (Phyllis) Rager, Johnstown; Ralph Reiking, married to the former Cindy Hoffmeyer, Somerset; grandchildren: Angela Painter, Jesse O'Kinsky, Daniel Anderson, Aimee Younkin, Matthew and Timothy Reiking; great-grandson, Samuel Painter. A brother of Mary Kimmel, Somerset; Paul W. "Pete" Horner, Friedens, and Clark W. Horner, Sipesville. Member of Sipesville Church of Brethren. Retired in 1991 with 42 years of service for Agway. Friends received 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, where a service will be conducted 1 p.m. Monday at Sipesville Church of the Brethren, Somerset. The Rev. Charles Stotler and the Rev. Barry K. Ritenour officiating. Interment Casebeer Cemetery.
