Horner, 101, of Stoystown, died March 14, 1998, at Siemon Lakeview Manor Estate. Born April 5, 1896, in Quemahoning Township, son of the late John and Jennie B. (Sell) Horner. Also preceded in death by his wife, the former Mary Specht, 3 brothers and 3 sisters. Survived by daughter Esther, wife of Donald Croyle of Stoystown; grandchildren, Karen, married to Ronald Yoffe, Brenda, married to Charles Shontofski, and Douglas, married to the former Kathleen Sheets; great-grandchildren Adam Yoffee, Matthew and HA Daniel Shontofski, USN, Devin and Aaron Croyle. He was a former owner of Horner's Garage in Stoystown and was a milk hauler for Sanitary Dairy and owned a moving van. He raised beagles and his dog "King" was national champion in 1967. He was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Stoystown, the Somerset County and Cambria County Beagle clubs, and the American Kennel Club. He was a charter member of Stoystown Volunteer Fire Company. Family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown, where service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday.
