   Paul W. "Pete" Horner, 93, Friedens, died June 23, 2008, in Friedens. Born March 26,
  1915, in Jefferson Township, the son of Harry Franklin and Annie Florence (Forney)
  Horner. Preceded in death by parents; wife, the former Virginia Rosaline Shaulis, who
  died in 1994; daughter, Gloria Kimmel and son-in-law, Clair Kimmel; sisters, Stella,
  Elsie and Gladys Horner, Alice Zimmerman; and brothers, Charles, Clark and Dean Horner.
  Survived by granddaughter, Rhonda Lee Dively, Somerset; special family friend and
  caregiver, Laura M. Newman, Somerset; and sister, Mary Kimmel, Somerset. Member of Mount
  Zion Lutheran Church. He worked as a coal miner for Cambria Fuel. The family will receive
  friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, Somerset,
  where a service will be conducted 10 a.m. Thursday. The Rev. Ralph Landis officiating.
  Interment, Bakersville Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to Humane Society of
