Hornig, 76, Meyersdale, died June 1, 1996, at Presbyterian University Medical Center, Pittsburgh. Born Sept. 28, 1919, in Salisbury. Daughter of the late Walter S. and Annie (Murray) Johns. Preceded in death by her husband, Herbert C. Hornig Sr., and brother, Frank S. Johns. Survived by children: Jack Johns, married to the former Helen Johnson, Salisbury; Herbert C. Hornig Jr., married to the former Nancy Walker, Meyersdale RD 3; Elizabeth, wife of Thomas Sumter, Doylestown, and David Hornig, Meyersdale. Three grandchildren: Richard Hornig, Marcie McDermott and Andrew Sumter. Also four great-grandchildren. A sister of Robert A. Johns and Myrtle Bodes, both of Salisbury. Member of Main Street Brethren Church, Meyersdale, and its Women's Missionary Society and the Meyersdale and Somerset County Historical societies. Charter member of Eastern Star Chapter 548, Meyersdale. Past member of the Rebekahs. She was a volunteer at Meyersdale Medical Center in the R.S.V.P.* Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at Price Funeral Home, Meyersdale, where service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Pastor Robert Stahl.
