  HORNIG
  
  Herbert C. Hornig, Sr., 66, of Meyersdale, died Sept. 21, 1986, in
  Doylestown.  Born Jan. 1, 1920, in Meyersdale, a son of the late William E.
  and Grace "Madge" (Reynolds) Hornig.  Also preceded in death by a brother,
  Charles, and a sister, Rhea Burt.  He is survived by his wife, the former
  Dorothy Johns; and these children: Jack Johns, Salisbury; Herbert C. Hornig
  Jr., Meyersdale RD 3; David Hornig, Meyersdale; and Mrs. Elizabeth Sumter of
  Doylestown; also three grandchildren.  A brother of: William "Harold" of
  Romulus, Mich.; John "Jake", James "Sam", and Mrs. Yvonne James, all of
  Meyersdale; Mrs. Alice Firey, LaVale, Md.; and Mrs. Ada B. Saylor, Newport
  News, Va.  He was a veteran of World War II; member of B.P.O.E. Lodge No.
  1951; American Legion Post 112; High-Point Trail Riders; Maple Leaf Rod and
  Gun Club; life member and past president of Meyersdale Volunteer Fire
  Department; member and treasurer of Masonic Lodge 554, F&AM, Harrisburg
  Consistory; Royal Arch Chapter 272; and a member of Meyersdale Borough
  Council.  Friends will be received 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the Price
  Funeral Home, Meyersdale, where services will be conducted at 2 p.m.
  Thursday with the Rev. Robert Stahl officiating.  Interment, Union
  Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Main Street
  Brethren Church, Meyersdale.
