  HORNING
  
  George L. Horning, 87, Berlin RD 4, died July 18, 1987, at Somerset
  Community Hospital.  He was born April 30, 1900, in Meyersdale, a son of
  Richard E. and Ida (Shumac) Horning.  Preceded in death by his parents;
  wife, the former Flora Kendall, in 1969; a grandchild; brothers: Bill,
  Edward, John and Harry; and a sister Henrietta.  He is survived by these
  children: Mrs. Norwood (Phyllis) Brant, Berlin RD 4; Mrs. Gorgine Gardner,
  Berlin RD 3; Eugene, West Middlesex; Mrs. Dale (Francis) Brant, Garrett RD
  1; Mrs. Annette Nibert, Jacksonville, Fla.; Ronald, Berlin RD 4; Mrs. Joan
  Pritts, Berlin; also 22 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.  He was
  a brother of: Clarence of Meyersdale; James, Cape Coral, Fla.; and Mrs.
  Anthony (Mary) Tattarelli, Ft. Meyers, Fla.  He was a member of Beachdale
  Church of the Brethren; Meyersdale Hebron Chapter R.A.M.; a 50-year member
  of Meyersdale Lodge 554 F&AM; and former retail merchant in Berlin. 
  Friends were received Sunday evening and will be received 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
  Monday at the Johnson-Kuhlman Funeral Home, where service will be held 11
  a.m. Tuesday, the Rev. Wilbur Fischer and the Rev. Ralph E. Mills
  officiating.  Interment, Beachdale Cemetery.  Masonic service 8 p.m. Monday
  at the funeral home.
