  Stephen M. Horwat, 70, New Paris, formerly of Jerome, died July 3, 1986, at
  Bedford County Memorial Hospital.  Born Dec. 26, 1915, in Jerome, son of
  Paul and Anna (Totyk) Horwat.  Preceded in death by parents and two
  sisters.  Survived by widow, former Elizabeth Michlo; and these children:
  Paul, married to former Regina Kowal, Jerome; Joan Kaltenbaugh, Stoystown
  RD 1; Annamarie, wife of Larry Millinder, Johnstown; Susan, wife of Richard
  Restagno, West Mifflin; Steven R., married to former Alyce Kolby, Lorton,
  Va.; 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.  Brother of: Mary, widow
  of Peter Hohrun, Johnstown; Verna, wife of Reno Lappi, Elyria, Ohio; Ann,
  wife of Earl Kinder, San Leandro, Calif.; Paul, married to former Mary Ann
  Bydrick, Pittsburgh; and Irene, wife of Richard Seigh, Johnstown.  Member
  of St. Thomas Catholic Church, Bedford.  Charter member and past commander
  of Jerome Post 802, American Legion; retired employee of PennDOT; Navy
  veteran of World War II.  Friends received 7-9 p.m. Saturday, 2-4 and 7-9
  p.m. Sunday at Hoffman Funeral Home, Main Street, Boswell, where Wake
  service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday.  Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m.
  Monday at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Jerome, with Father Conrad Salach,
  O.F.M. Conv., officiating.  Interment, Holy Cross Cemetery.  Military rite
  in charge of Jerome Legion.  Memorial contributions to Hospice in care of
  Bedford County Memorial Hospital, would be appreciated.
