Born July 14, 1924, in Jenners, a son of John and Annie Hoskins. Preceded in death by parents; wife, Dorothy; brothers, David Ellsworth, and Griffith; and a sister, Louise Carroll. Survived by a daughter, Darlene Hoskins, Indiana; sister, Grace Dunkak, Arizona; brother, Roy, Cleveland; and a good friend, Sally Klingensmith. He is a graduate of Shade High School. He is a retired chief petty officer for the Navy, serving during World War II, Korea and the Vietnam War. He served various ships and shore command during a 23- year active career and seven years in the reserves. After serving in the Navy, he worked 19 years for Digital Computer Corp. Member of the American Legion Post 445, Berlin; a life member of VFW Post 7295, Berlin; and a member-at-large of the Fleet Reserve Association. Family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until the time of service 2 p.m. Sunday, April 22 at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Berlin. The Rev. Dr. John Harmon and the Rev. Ralph Landis officiating. Memorial contributions may be given to "In Touch" Hospice, 223 S. Pleasant Ave., Suite 103, Somerset, PA 15501. The Berlin Veteran's Home will provide military honors.
