He was born Oct. 9, 1895, in Greenville Township, a son of the late William H. and Ella Zuma (Sass) Hostetler. Preceded in death by his first wife, the former Elizabete Knepp; also three sisters and two brothers. Survived by his wife, the former Florence Pearl Caler; these children: C. Carl, Frostburg RD 2, Md.; Mrs. James (Sara Jane) Meyers, Rockwood RD 3; two grandchildren; one great grandchild. He was a brother of: Mrs. Nettie Warner and Robert of Meyersdale RD 3; Gordon, Geneva, Ohio. He was a member and deacon of the First Christian Church. Retired from school teaching after 49 years of service. He had taught in the Greenville-Larimer Township Schools and the Boswell School System. Mr. Hostetler attended California Normal School and was a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, Class of 1936. Friends are being received in the Richard E. Hauger Funeral Home, where service will be conducted Thursday at 1:30 p.m., the Rev. Paul Weber officiating. Interment, Somerset County Memorial Park. Somerset American, June 30, 1976 [H1665]
