Born Sept. 7, 1889, in Somerset County, a daughter of the late Edmund and Anna (Emert) Shaffer. Survived by three sons, Guy Hostetler of Cairnbrook, Roy D. Jr., of Sharpsville, Dean, Somerset RD 4, two daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Pletcher, of Berlin, Mrs. George (Lois) Miller, Rockwood RD 2, 11 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, 23 great-great-granchildren [sic]. She was preceded in death by her parents, and also by her husband, Roy D. Hostetler, 1951, by a son Blaine in 1987, also by six sisters and one brother. She was a member of the New Centerville Church of God. Friends will be received in William J. Wood Funeral Home, Rockwood, 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, where services will be conducted Wednesday at 11 a.m., with her pastor the Reverend Richard Yates officiating. Interment, Somerset County Memorial Park. Arrangements are under the direction of the William J. Wood Funeral Home with Francis Brady supervising. Daily American, March 1, 1988 [H1725]
