She was born May 25, 1902 in Humbert, Pa., the daughter of Daniel and Pearl Firestone. She has been a resident of Mather since 1928. Mrs. Hostetler will be remembered as a skilled seamstress and for her work in food services at the Jefferson Morgan High School and the Greene County Country Club. She was a member of the Mather Christian Church. She is survived by a sister, Katherine Gerhard of Latrobe and daughters, Verna Lutz of Salisbury; Sarah Morris of Waynesburg, Edith Griedel of Mather; and a son, William Scott Hostetler of Richmond, Va. Also surviving are 20 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Her husband, William Scott Hostetler, preceded her in death in 1954. Also deceased are sisters, Vida Sipe and Rhuie Lynch. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in the Behm Funeral Home, Rt. 188, Jefferson, Pa., where services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, with the Pastor Jack Fowler officiating.
