He was a son of Mr. and Mrs. James E. Hostetler. Ralph was well-liked by all the boys and was a friend of everybody. He attended the Confluence public school through to the eighth grade. He is survived by his parents, four sisters - Mrs. Eddie Rutkowski, Eleanor, Mabel, and Ruth Hostetler - and two brothers - James, who is serving in the U.S. Army and Roy. The pallbearers were some of his young friends: Ralph Fullmer, Gene Fisch, Robert Lytle, Armor Rush and Tommy Jewart. The flowerbearers were James Trimpy and Joe Lenhart. Rev. F. A. Webb officiated. Interment was in the Jersey Cemetery. The mortician was Charles Humbert. Meyersdale Republican, July 20, 1944
