 HOSTETLER
  
 Richard C. "Noppy" Hostetler, 85, of Berlin RD 1, died Aug. 28, 1996,
  at Meadow View Nursing Center.  Born Feb. 5, 1911, in Brothersvalley
  Township. Son of John and Sarah (Ackerman) Hostetler.  Preceded in
  death by parents; son, Philip S. Sr.; grandson, John B., and sister,
  Myrtle Wagner.  Survived by his wife of 59 years, the former Irma
  Schmucker; children: Fran of Frederick, Md.; Mrs. Peter (Dorothy)
  Schwaller, Walton, Ky., and Phil S., at home; grandchildren: Rayna
  Diyn, Luke and Matthew Schwaller; daughter-in-law, Vickie Lepley,
  Shanksville, and brother, Glenn of Jennerstown.  Retired drag-line
  operator.  Member of Unity United Church of Christ and the UMWA. 
  Family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at Deaner
  Funeral Home, Berlin.  Service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday at
  Unity UCC.  No viewing at the church.  Revs. Jay E. Shaffer and Wayne
  Sautter officiating.  Interment, Glade Cemetery.  Memorial
  contributions may be given to Unity UCC, P.O. Box 132, Shanksville,
  Pa. 15560
