Born Aug. 20, 1898, in Middlecreek, Pa., son of the late Jacob and Anna (Saylor) Hostetler. Resident of the Somerset area for past 38 years. Retired plant foreman for Somerset Limestone Co. Member of Center Church of the Brethren, Middlecreek Township. Survived by five sons: Arden of Somerset RD 6; Russell Jr. of Somerset RD 4; the Rev. Robert, Mt. Pleasant RD 4; Jerry, with whom he resided; William, Loysburg, Pa.; and daughter, Mrs. Robert (Lois) DeWitt, Somerset RD 4; 25 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by wife Ruth (Stutchel) Hostetler, June 14, 1971, and daughter, Goldie; five brothers, Jacob, Lloyd, Clyde, Elmer and Lewis; five sisters, Mrs. Mary Dugan, Catherine Miller, Maggie Shawley, Clara and Emma. Friends will be received at the Clyde Brooks Funeral Home Inc., Rt. 711, Melcroft, after 2 p.m. today, where services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, the Rev. John Geary and the Rev.
