He was born Feb. 18, 1917 in Jones Mills, a son of the late Lloyd C. and Ruby Tinkey Hostetler. Prior to retirement he was employed for over 20 years by White Lumber Co. He was a former member of Mt. Nebo Church of God and attended Laurel Mountain Chapel, Trent. He was preceded in death by an infant grandson, Kenneth John Hostetler, Jr., a brother, Willard "Bid" Hostetler, 3 sisters: Isabel Hostetler, Orpha Geary and Arlene Stull. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Thelma Hostetler Hostetler; a son: John and his wife Patricia of Jones Mills, 3 daughters: Darlene and her husband John Stevanus, New Lexington, Donna and her husband Fred McDonald, Flemington, W.Va., Ruby and her husband John Collins, Somerset RD 3; 15 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, a brother Denny Hostetler, Somerset RD 4; 2 sisters: Evelyn Miller, Champion and Jean Woy, Somerset. Family will receive friends at the Snyder-Brown Funeral Home, Donegal from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Saturday. Funeral services will be held in the chapel of the funeral home 2 p.m. Sunday with the Rev. Kermit Jones and Rev. Donald Judy, co-officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Nebo Cemetery, Saltlick Twp. Daily American, July 27, 1996 [H1744]
