Zourie Faidley Hostetler was born near Meyersdale on March 1, 1887, the daughter of Zachariah and Maggie (Smith) Faidley, both deceased. Early in her youth she became a member of the Brethren Church at Summit Mills, and later transferred her membership to the Main Street Brethren Church. Surviving are her husband and these children: Ward Hostetler, Somerset, R.D.; Claude and Maxine Hostetler, both at home. One daughter, Anna Frances, preceded her in death. She also leaves a grandson, Thomas Wayne Hostetler, and two sisters, Mrs. Emanuel Berkley, Somerset, and Mrs. Bertha Sechler, Somerset, R.D. Mrs. Hostetler had a kind, friendly disposition, which won her many friends. Her's was indeed a life of service, for she was never happier than when she could be doing something for others. She locked her own cares and worries away, and opened her heart to the burdens of others. The bereaved family, relatives and friends, have the blessed comfort of knowing that through her life of helpfulness and labors of love, she had stored up many treasures in heaven, "where moth and rust do not corrupt," and she has now been called home to reap her rewards. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon at the Hostetler home by the Rev. N. V. Leatherman of the Berlin Brethren Church. Interment will be in Union Cemetery under the direction of H. R. Konhaus, Meyersdale mortician. Meyersdale Republican, February 6, 1941
