Hotchkiss, 62, of Baltimore, formerly of Meyersdale RD 1, died Nov. 15 in Baltimore Hospital. Born in Summit Township, Jan. 27, 1904, he was a son of the late John and Mary (Murray) Hotchkiss. Surviving are his wife, the former Clara Staub and these children: William, David and Mrs. Mary Jane Christner, Akron; Donald, Dundalk, Md.; and Larry, US Army; also 13 grandchildren. He was a brother of Andrew and Mrs. Catherine Hersch, Coal Run; James, Cannonsburg; Robert, Meyersdale; Mrs. Alice Miller, Garrett; Mrs. Maggie Swartzwelder, Salisbury; and Marie Marble, Akron. Employed by Bethlehem Steel Co., Baltimore, Hotchkiss was a member of Meyersdale Moose Lodge. Funeral service was conducted on Saturday afternoon in St. Paul Wilhelm United Church of Christ, with Rev. Richard H. Harder officiating. Interment was made in Salisbury IOOF cemetery, under the direction of the Thomas Funeral Home, Salisbury. Meyersdale Republican, November 24, 1966 [H1756]
