Houpt, 74, Somerset RD 5, died Sept. 18, 1975, Somerset Community Hospital. Born in Somerset, Oct. 4, 1900, the son of Earl and Ida (Yoder) Houpt. Preceded in death by parents, two wives: Ethel Sechler and Etta Meyers, and one son, Jack. Survived by two step-daughters, Mrs. June Petty of Magalia, Calif.; and Mrs. Rita Reilly of Pittsburgh; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters and one brother: Mrs. Elizabeth Luther, and Louise, wife of William R. Tressler, both of Somerset; and Dr. Earl O., Somerset RD 2. Member of the First Christian Church, Somerset, veteran of World War I, and member and past master of Somerset Lodge 538, Free and Accepted Masons. He was a retired painting contractor. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday (today) in the Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home where services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday with the Rev. Paul P. Weber officiating.
