Housel, 58, died April 9, 1980 in Memorial Hospital, Cumberland, Md. He was born April 18, 1921, in Meyersdale, and was a son of the late John B. Housel and Margaret (Ohler) Housel. He was a sergeant in the army and had served during World War II and the Korea and Vietnam conflicts. He was a member of the John Bastione Post of the Disabled American Veterans at Connellsville. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Betty (Deremer) Housel; two sons, Michael E. Housel, Hyndman; David P. Housel, at home; a daughter, Mrs. Donna J. Shaffer, Hyndman; a brother, George C. Housel, Meyersdale; four sisters, Mrs. Mary C. Ohler, Rockwood; Mrs. Agnes Shuck, Mrs. Emma Christner, and Mrs. Alberta V. Sanner, all of Meyersdale, and three grandchildren. Friends were received at the Zeigler Funeral Home, Hyndman. Services were conducted in the funeral home with the Rev. Oscar Ohler and the Rev. James Deremer officiating.
