Born in Finzel, he was a son of the late John Housel and Alberta (Finzel) Housel. He was a retired truck driver. He was a veteran of World War II and was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ in New Germany; Henry Hart Post 1411, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Cumberland, and Cresaptown Aerie 2883, Fraternal Order of Eagles. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Alcy (Jenkins) Housel; three brothers, Robert Housel, Harry Housel and Paul Housel, all of Salisbury; five sisters, Mrs. Arvella Tedrow and Mrs. Mary Durst, both of Salisbury; Mrs. Rachel Durst, Grantsville, Maryland; Mrs. Pauline Norris, Meyersdale; Mrs. Dorothy Dymond, Charleston, W.Va. Friends were received at the Newman Funeral Home, Grantsville, where services were conducted by the Rev. Mark Stewart. Interment will be in the Trinity church cemetery.
