Housel, 85, died Thursday, March 27, at the home of his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Brown, Plank Road. He was born April 17, 1861, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Housel and was a retired farmer. His wife, Mrs. Mary Jane Nedrow, survives and the following children, Mrs. Albert Brown, above mentioned; John A. Housel, Salisbury; Curtis M. Housel, Boswell; Ray E. Housel, Somerset; Oscar A. Housel, Hyasota; Roy J. Housel, Frostburg, Md.; Mrs. Lloyd Sipple, Salisbury; Mrs. Ida B. Hoover, Somerset; Mrs. Irvin Brown, Boswell; Mrs. George Baker, Mt. Savage, and Mrs. George Durst, Frostburg. A brother, Curtis Housel, Meyersdale, 65 grandchildren, 70 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild also survive. Funeral services were held last Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Reformed Church in Salisbury, with Rev. Ira S. Monn officiating. Burial was made in the Odd Fellows cemetery in Salisbury in charge of W. C. Price & Son. Meyersdale Republican, April 3, 1947
