Housel, 76, of Friedens, passed on Sept. 8, 2003, in Somerset Township. Born Oct. 28, 1926 in Summit Township, the son of Mary and James Housel. Preceded in death by his parents, sister Ruth Walker, and brother Raymond Housel. Survived by his son Kenneth, married to Nora Housel of Ft. Littleton, Colo.; daughter Vicki, married to Frank Ryniak of Meyersdale; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was a graduate of the Somerset high school class of 1945, and was a veteran of U.S. Navy in World War II. Retired from the Pa. Turnpike Commission where he worked as a toll collector and was a Somerset County Deputy Sheriff. He worked as a stringer for WJAC-TV in Johnstown, and did private photography work for weddings and local police departments. Friends will be received from 10 a.m. until time of service at 12 p.m. Friday at Miller Funeral Home, Somerset. Rev. Ed DeVore officiating. Interment, Friedens Cemetery.
