Hovatter, 77, Fort Hill RD 1, died May 26, 1982, at Laurel View Nursing Home, Acme. He was born Dec. 26, 1904, in Grafton, W.Va., and was a son of the late Adolphus and Minnie (Moats) Hovatter. He is survived by his wife, the former Violet M. Tressler, and one son, Fred P. Hovatter, a sister, Mrs. Jessie Fleming, Oxnard, Ca., brother, Harry Hovatter, Fla., two grandchildren, also survived by four step-grandchildren, Blaine R. and Dale M. Hetrick, both of Fort Hill RD 1, Eugene R. Hetrick, Warren and Mrs. Holly M. Hutzell, Salisbury, also 17 step-grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a stepson, Lonnie Hetrick. He was a retired superintendent of the Clairton Works of US Steel; a member of the Wilson Lodge No. 714 F and AM, Clairton, Tall Cedars of Lebanon Al-O-Mon Forest, McKeesport, Pittsburgh Consistory, McKeesport Caravan No. 114 and the Syria Temple. Friends were received at Thomas Funeral Home, Salisbury. Services were held at St. Johns United Church of Christ, Salisbury, with the Rev. Maurice R. Smith Jr. officiating.
