HOWARD Emory Earl Howard, 60, who was agent at the local B&O station, died at his home at 510 Main St., Meyersdale, on Tuesday evening, Aug. 1, following an illness of three months. Born in Claysville, Aug. 22, 1906, he was a son of the late Frank and Ella (Scott) Howard. He was graduated from Claysville High School in 1925. He taught school in West Finley Township (Washington County) for a time, was employed by the State Liquor Control Board and at the time of his death was a 35-year employee of the B&O Railroad. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Claysville. Surviving are his wife, the former Mary Wheeler; three daughters: Patricia, wife of George Milligan, Petaluma, Calif.; Mary Ella, wife of Frank Potter, Martins Farry, Ohio; Nauweta, wife of Leslie Kerns, Citrus Heights, Calif.; three sons: Emory Jr., Clayton, N.C.; Samuel, in the US Navy; and Jake, at home; also 10 grandchildren, six brothers and four sisters. Funeral service was held on Friday afternoon in the R. A. Brownlee Funeral Home, Claysville (Washington County) Cemetery. Meyersdale Republican, August 10, 1967 [H1836]
