Bruce Howsare, 76, formerly of Borden Shaft, Md., a resident of the Bowman Nursing Home, Mount Savage, Md., the past two years, died Saturday, May 16, 1987, in Frostburg Community Hospital, Md. Born in Rainesburg, Jan. 12, 1911, he was the son of the late John W. and Annie (Bennett) Howsare. His wife, Eleanor (Hite) Howsare, died in 1971. A retired mechanic for the Allegany County Roads Department, he was a member of the Shaft Volunteer Fire Department. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Kathleen Sigler, Hagerstown, Md.; five sons: Paul E. Howsare, Meyersdale; Leonard E. Howsare and John W. Howsare, both of Wright's Crossing, Md.; George M. Howsare, Hancock, Md.; W. Royce Howsare, Baltimore, Md.; one brother, John Howsare, Everett; 19 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Friends were received at the Durst Funeral Home, Frostburg, Md., where services were conducted Tuesday at 11 a.m. by the Rev. John T. Potts. Interment, Frostburg Memorial Park.
