Born Jan. 9, 1957, in Connellsville, the daughter of Dwayne and Sue (Driscoll) Welling, Addison, previously of Springfield Pike, Connellsville. Survived by her loving husband, Kent and sons, Seth and Blake, a student at Towson University; sisters, Debbie Barna, Mooresville, N.C., Claudia Carbonara, Connellsville; brother, Dr. David Welling, Addison, and numerous nieces and nephews. Leah was employed by the Garrett County Board of Education as the secretary of Friendsville Elementary School for 17 years. While employed there, Leah was active with musical productions, fund raisers and community events. She was active in Mercy Chapel, Mill Run, often providing cherished musical selections by voice or instrument. Leah enjoyed a variety of leisure activities including camping, cross country skiing, painting, spending time with family and friends and was actively involved with Big Brothers-Big Sisters. Leah's strong faith and generosity touched the lives of many and will be missed by all. Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 26722 Garrett Hwy, Accident, Md. (McHenry). Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at New Life Covenant Church, Route 40, Markleysburg. The Rev. Daymond Schmuck, Rev. Jerry Steele and Rev. Ross Glotfelty officiating. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to the services. Interment will be in Mercy Chapel Cemetery.
