Hudak, 99, of West Street, Jenners died Aug. 28, 2000 at Laurelwood Care Center, Johnstown. Born Jan. 7, 1901 in Listie. Son of John M. and Anna (Ference) Hudak. Preceded in death by parents, wife the former Marie Yoder in 1939, sister Mary Adams and brothers George, Michael, Paul and Joe. Survived by son John R. Hudak married to Sally Fisher, Johnstown; daughter Doris wife of Francis Slovikosky, Frederick, Md., long-time special friend Mary Unger, Gray and her daughter Betty Earp, West Minister, Md. Grandchildren, Michelle (Hudak) wife of John Herdman, David J. Hudak married to Christine Cassanese and Wendy Glassic and great-grandchildren, Matthew and Joshua Herdman, Kaleigh and Tyler Hudak, and Nicole, Andrea, Hunter and Logan Glassic. Brother of Anna Sheftic and Josephine Ayers, both of Somerset, and Steve, Mechanicsburg. Member of All Saints Catholic Parish, UMWA Jedonta Lodge Branch 577 First Catholic Slovak Union and the Father David J. Dodson Assembly, 2201 Knights of Columbus. Charter member of the former St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Jenners. Retired area coal miner having worked from 1915 to 1959. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Hoffman Funeral Home, Main Street, Boswell, where vigil for the deceased will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday and the K of C will stand guard from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. Funeral mass at 11 a.m. Thursday at All Saints Church, Boswell, Rev. Father Martin Brewski OFM. Conv., Celebrant. Commital St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Boswell.
