  Anna Ruth (Kurtz) Hughes, R.N., 77, of Confluence, died March 21, 2002, at
  her home.  Born Sept. 18, 1924 in Addison, daughter of the late George and
  Lucy (Hall) Kurtz.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death
  by her husband John L. Hughes; brothers Daniel and Harry Kurtz; and sisters
  Verna VanSickle, Jean Wilson, Faye Voss, Lucille Shunk and Jo McLean. 
  Survived by son John P. Hughes, Herndon, Va.; daughters Pamela Hughes,
  Detroit, Mich., and Kathy Hughes Ruck, Monterey, Calif.; grandchildren
  Sarah and David Hughes; and sister Mary Lane Kurtz, Confluence.  She
  graduated from Confluence High School in 1944 and from Cumberland Memorial
  Hospital School of Nursing in 1946.  A long-standing member of Trinity
  Lutheran Church, Confluence, and Middlecreek Golf Club.  Former member of
  the Confluence Women's Civic Club.  Friends will be received from 2 to 4
  and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, the hour of service,
  at Humbert Funeral Home, Confluence, Rev. George Mason officiating. 
  Interment in Addison Cemetery.  Family suggests memorial contributions to
  Trinity Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 74, Confluence, Pa. 15424.
