Born January 12, 1927, in Sand Patch, she was preceded in death by her father, Edmund Stone in 1927, and her mother, Virginia (Garlitz) Stone and her husband, Albert Sturtz. She was also preced in death by husband, James G. Sechler. She is survived by son, Randy James Sechler, Sr., and wife Jeani, Cresaptown, Md.; grandchildren: Randy James Sechler, Jr., Kasi (Sechler) Emerick and Merl Wolfe; and seven great-grandchildren. Also survived by three stepchildren: Tammy Gallagher, Tim Humberson and Tom Humberson and their children. Gladys is also survived by her dear friends and neighbors, Mary Formhal and Faye Senka, and her loving and devoted caregiver, Beth Hosier. Gladys graduated from Meyersdale Area High School, attended beauty school and operated a beauty shop in Meyersdale. She pursued further education and attended Radiology Technician School, and worked at Meyersdale Hospital in the X-ray Department. While in Meyersdale, she was a member of Amity United Church of Christ. After leaving Meyersdale and moving to Bel Air, she became a member of the Cresaptown United Methodist Church, active in the Bel Air Crime Watch Committee, and employed at the Cresaptown Dollar Store. She also worked for Home Health Care. A memorial service was held at 4 p.m. Saturday at the M. Ray Leckemby Funeral Home, Meyersdale, with the Rev. Bruce Ashlock officiating. Interment was in the Union Cemetery, Meyersdale. A memorial service was also held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Cresaptown United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Laura Schultz officiating.
