    Kathryn (Friend) Humbertson, 39, of Friendsville, Md., died Feb. 23,
  1972, in Meyersdale Community Hospital as a result of a one-vehicle
  accident which occurred Feb. 9.
    The mishap occurred at 7:30 a.m. on Maryland state Route 42, six-tenths
  of a mile west of Hoyes in Garrett County.
    The woman was driving a pick-up truck south on the road when the vehicle
  ran off the west side of the roadway, striking a snowbank and continuing on
  into a tree.
    Born in Friendsville, Mrs. Humbertson was a daughter of the late Harold
  and Bertha (Meyers) Friend.
    She was a member of Selbysport United Methodist Church.
    Surviving are her husband, Harold Humbertson; two sons, Timothy Dale and
  Thomas Lynn; and a daughter, Tammy Sue, all at home; and two sisters, Mrs.
  Laura Savage and Mrs. Beryl Foy, Friendsville.
    Funeral service was conducted Saturday afternoon in Newman Funeral Home,
  Friendsville, with Rev. Robert L. Burns officiating.  Interment in Sand
  Spring Cemetery.
