  Kenneth W. "Pap" Hummel Sr., 59, of 924 Boswell Heights, Boswell, died Nov.
  9, 1982, at the V.A. Medical Center, Altoona.  Born Jan. 12, 1923, in West
  Virginia, son of William and Elsie (Grubb) Hummel.  Preceded in death by
  parents.  Survived by widow, former Margaret Laura Sykes; and these
  children: Samuel Porto, Pittsburgh; Toni, wife of Richard Wainwright, and
  Kenneth Jr., both of Boswell; Allen Porto, Stoystown; Penni, wife of Roger
  Leasock, Somerset; 20 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. 
  Brother of: Cliff, Helen Yost, Eleanor, Ethel and Mary Jane, all of
  Florida; Elmer and Walter, both of Ohio; and Irene, Arizona.  Army veteran
  of World War II and Korean Conflict.  Member of Jenner Rod and Gun Club. 
  Friends received from noon to 9 p.m. Thursday at Hoffman Funeral Home, 409
  Main St. Boswell, where service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, the Rev.
  Chauncey J. Ickes.  Interment, Jenner Crossroads Cemetery.
