Born May 16, 1925, in Boswell, a son of Frank Douglas and Margaret Matilda (Shockey) Hunter. Preceded in death by parents; sister, Mary Evelyn Horner; brothers, Jack W., Franklin Eugene and Ralph S. Hunter. Survived by wife, the former Betty June Alumbaugh to whom he was married 56 years; children, twins Mrs. Keith H. (Constance) West of Pittsburgh and Ronald L. Hunter, married to the former Lynn Kinsey of Greensburg; grandchildren, Richard H. West and wife Victoria, Philadelphia, Amanda Kristine West of New York City, Dillon Winfield Hunter of Greensburg and Dalton Franklin Hunter of Greensburg. Brother of Mrs. Elizabeth Walker of Boswell, Walter Lee Hunter and wife Lurane of St. Paul, Minn. A 1943 graduate of Boswell High School. Member of Trinity Lutheran Church. He had been a co-owner of the former Alumbaugh Coal Co., and retired in 1984 as a principle officer of the Donovan Mining Division. He also had been an active member of the Pa. Coal Miners Association. Friends received 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, Somerset. Private services will be conducted Wednesday. The Rev. Susan H. Yatta officiating.
