Hurlbert, 64, of New Alexandria RD 2, and formerly of South Fork and the Pittsburgh area, died Feb. 25, 1995, at Montefiore Hospital, Pittsburgh. Born June 28, 1930, in Indiana, Pa., son of the late Mahlon D. and Helen Alta (Strayer) Hurlbert. Survived by a sister, Mrs. Robert L. (Marion "Mim") Schweppe of New Alexandria RD 2; a nephew, Robert L. Schweppe Jr., New Alexandria RD 2; nieces, Ms. Deborah Schweppe and Mrs. Richard A. (Susan) Welsh, both of Lower Burrell; also great-nephews: Ryan, Shawn and Matthew Schweppe, and Shane and Trevor Welsh. Also close cousins, Mrs. Edna Zeigler of Somerset, and Ms. Ruth Zeigler and Mrs. Cleo Pepperman, both of Williamsport, Pa. Retired minister of the Western Pennsylvania Conference of the United Methodist Church. Twice served as associate pastor of the Baldwin Community United Methodist church from 1955-1961 and 1966-1975. Pastor of Carnegie United Methodist Church from 1961-1963. Director of Personnel, Rehabilitation and Chaplain for Goodwill Industries of Pittsburgh 1963-1966 and 1975-1985. Marketing director and chaplain of Asbury Heights Retirement Community 1985-1991. Pastor of Wesley United Methodist Church, South Fork, Pa., 1991-1993. 1952 graduate of Lycoming College Williamsport, Pa., and received his master's of sacred theology from Wesley Theological Seminary Washington, D.C. Member of Faith United Methodist Church of Delmont, Pa. Member of Lodge 45, F&A.M., of Pittsburgh; Scottish Rite of Valley of Pittsburgh. Member of National Rehabilitation Counseling Association. Friends received from 7-9 p.m. Monday and 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the John L. Bash Funeral Home, Delmont, where funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, with the Rev. Roger G. Rulong and the Rev. Elmer H. Reamer officiating. Private interment in Rest Land Memorial Park, Monroeville.
