Born September 6, 1919, in Jennings, Md., he was the son of the late Frank and Ida (Durst) Hutzel. He was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Eva Jean (Faidley) Hutzel, one sister, Freda Lindeman and one brother, Thomas Hutzel. Mr. Hutzel was a member of the Church of the Brethren. He was a retired roads construction worker and was a WW II veteran of the U.S. Army having served as a Tech 5. He was also a member of the VFW and DAV. Surviving are three sons, William C. Hutzel and wife, Trudy, Salisbury; Edward L. Hutzel and wife, Cheryl, Meyersdale, Pa.; Arthur E. Hutzel and wife, Crystal, Salisbury; one daughter, Maxine Guthrie and husband, Clarence, Grantsville, Md.; four brothers, Elmer Hutzel, Salisbury; Mahlon, Havard and Frank Hutzel, all of Grantsville; two sisters, Verna Hutzel, Salisbury and Carrie Durst, Grantsville; 10 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Friends will be received on Friday 7-9 p.m and Saturday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 179 Miller St., Grantsville, Md. where services will be conducted on Sunday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. David E. Fetter officiating. Interment will be in Salisbury Cemetery. Military graveside rites will be accorded by Salisbury veteran's organizations.
