Hutzel, 90, Salisbury, died Aug. 25, 2004, at his home. Born July 17, 1914, in Jennings, Md., he was the son of the late Frank and Ida (Durst) Hutzel. He was preceded in death by his wife, Doretha A. (Shunk) Hutzel, Dec. 19, 1991; one sister, Freda Lindeman and two brothers, Thomas and Clark Hutzel. Surviving are one son, Blayne Hutzel, Silver Spring, Md.; two daughters, Grace Ravenscroft, Reisterstown, Md.; Nancy Deal, Salisbury; three brothers, Mahlon, Havard and Frank Hutzel, all of Grantsville, Md.; two sisters, Carrie Durst, Grantsville and Verna Hutzel, Salisbury; six grandchildren, Doug, D. Keith and Dion Ravenscroft; Lisa Spaid, Bryon Deal and Kim Myers and 11 great grandchildren. Mr. Hutzel was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ. He was a retired cement finisher and was a member of Cement Mason's Local 526, Salisbury Cemetery Committee and Casselman Valley Sportsmen's Club. Friends will be received 7 to 9 p.m. Friday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Newman Funeral Home Inc., 9168 Mason-Dixon Highway, Salisbury. A service will be conducted 2 p.m. at the funeral home Sunday. The Rev. Dr. Philip Sorensen, The Rev. Albert Valentine officiating. Interment will be in Salisbury Cemetery.
