Hutzel, 89, Grantsville, Md., died June 9, 2005, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland, Md. Born Dec. 28, 1915, in Jennings, Md., he is the son of the late Frank and Ida (Durst) Hutzel. He is preceded in death by three brothers, Elmer, Thomas and Clark and one sister, Freda Lindeman. Surviving are his wife of 65 years, Freda (Bittinger) Hutzel, whom he married June 9, 1940, one son, Glenn Hutzel, Grantsville; three daughters, Shirley Hay and Patsy Birchfield, both of Garrett; Phyllis Gnagey, Salisbury; two brothers, Havard and Frank Hutzel, both of Grantsville; two sisters, Carrie Durst, Grantsville and Verna Hutzel, Salisbury; eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Mr. Hutzel was retired from the Laborer's Union, Local 616, Cumberland. He was a member of Laughlin Church of the Brethren and was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially hunting deer and raccoon. Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 179 Miller St., Grantsville, Md., where a service will be conducted 2 p.m. Saturday. The Rev.
