JOSEPHINE HUTZELL

  Mrs. Josephine Knight Hutzell died Sunday night, Dec. 27, 1942, after a 
lingering illness due to old age.  She was about 80 years old and had been 
bedfast for the past nine months.  She was born in Hagerstown, Md., and had 
lived in Meyersdale for about 55 years.  Her husband, John Calvin Hutzell, 
preceded her in death just 13 months ago.  Funeral services were conducted 
Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the home of Jacob Hutzell, by Rev. R. M. 
Dunkelberger, pastor of Zion Lutheran Church.  The funeral was directed by H. R. 
Konhaus, undertaker, and interment was made in Union Cemetery.  She is survived 
by one brother and one sister, and by an adopted son, William Hutzell, now 
serving in the U.S. Army.
