The County Coroner, Dr. H.S. Kimmel, held an inquest at R. Reich & Son's undertaking establishment, Wednesday noon, resulting in a verdict of accidental death, but the local authorities are investigating reports circulated since the inquest, indicating that his death may not have been due to accident. Hutzell had been employed as a miner at Jerome where he made his home with Mr. & Mrs. Elmer Smith. Mrs. Smith, "who was in the company of Hutzell shortly before his death, reports that domestic affairs in her home were by no means tranquil & that her husband had recently driven Hutzell from their domicile. Thereafter she found conditions unbearable & followed Hutzell to Meyersdale. A moot question is whether Hutzell, owing to his alleged entanglement in the domestic broil of the Smith family many not have walked in the pathway of the train to put an end to his troubles, or been pushed in front of the train by unfriendly hands. As there was no eye-witness to the tragedy, it is quite likely that no definite solution of the mystery will ever be found, & that the verdict of accidental death will stand. The victim of the accident was born in Larimer Twp., Oct. 2, 1902. He is survived by one brother, Charles Hutzell, Cumberland, & four sisters, Mrs. Samuel Beal, Mrs. John Day, Mrs. Julia Glessner & Miss Martha Hutzell, all of Meyersdale, in addition to his parents above mentioned. He as a member of the Zion Evangelical Church, of Meyersdale. Meyersdale Republican, Oct 18, 1928, page 1
