Hyde, 99, of Confluence, died June 25, 2000, at Somerset Hospital. She was born Sept. 16, 1900, in Confluence, a daughter of Charles and Annie (Holt) Stark. She was preceded in death by parents; husband, John W., son, James Richard, brother, John Stark, and sisters, Grace Corristan and Ethel Davis. She is survived by a daughter, Elizabeth Gurto of Wexford, and sons, Charles of Keedysville, Md., and John of Hauppauge, N.Y.; 14 grandchildren, numerous great and great-great grandchildren and a brother, C.H. Stark of Toledo, Ohio. She was a life member of the Confluence United Methodist Church and U.M.W. Member of Great Crossings Chapter, D.A.R., and past regent and secretary. Also a member of the Confluence Fire Ladies Auxiliary and the Ursina American Legion, Post 946 Ladies Auxiliary. A 1918 graduate of Confluence High School. Friends will be received 7 to 9 p.m. today, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, and 10 a.m. to noon Thursday at the Humbert Funeral Home, Confluence. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Confluence United Methodist Church; with the Rev. Dr. Arthur Gotjen officiating. Interment, Sansom Chapel Cemetery.
