Ickes died March 27 at the Cresson Sanitarium where he had been a patient for several months. He was born in Meyersdale, April 19, 1917, the son of the late George Ickes and Mrs. Nettie (Imler) Ickes, and was employed in Baltimore prior to his illness. Besides his mother he is survived by seven brothers and two sisters - Ross and Bruce, both of Altoona; Paul and Homer of Johnstown; Clarke, with the armed forces in Kansas; Ranson, with the army in Hawaii; Frederick, in Baltimore; Mrs. Herbert Stein, Salisbury, and Annie, Muncy, Pa. Funeral services were held this (Thursday) afternoon at the Ickes home on North Street, at 4 o'clock, conducted by Rev. R. M. Dunkelberger, pastor of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church. Interment in Union Cemetery. R. Reich and Son, morticians, had charge of funeral arrangements.
