Illar, 73, New Centerville, died April 9, 1990, in his home. Born Oct. 4, 1916, in Washington County, Pa., son of the late Frank and Elizabeth (Beres) Illar. Preceded in death by parents; brothers William and John; and son-in-law, Dr. Joseph B. Falchek. Survived by his wife, the former Martha Cramer, and these children: Laura J. (Jerome) Smith, Aliquippa; Elizabeth A. (Edwin) Fry, Indiana, Pa.; Andrea Falchek, Lewistown; Franklin J. (Sheila), New Centerville; George S. (Susan), Somerset RD 7; Jack (Jennifer), Somerset; and LTJG Joseph J., U.S. Navy, (Cindy), Washington, D.C.; also 12 grandchildren. Brother, Robert A., Beaver Falls, and sister, Grace Skrobacs, Washington County, Pa.; sister-in-law, Mary C. Johnson; a brother-in-law, George F. Cramer, and a number of nieces and nephews. He was a member of the Messiah Lutheran Church, New Centerville; New Centerville Volunteer Fire Department and Rockwood American Legion Post 279. Veteran of World War II. Retired member of Rockwood Area school board. Retired as music educator in Rockwood Area Schools for 40 years. His death terminated a marriage union of 47 years. Friends received from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home. Funeral services at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Messiah Lutheran Church, with Pastor Roger L. Steiner officiating. Interment, New Centerville Cemetery. Memorial service will be conducted at 8 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home by members of the New Centerville Fire Department. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Messiah Lutheran Church or New Centerville Fire Department. ILLAR Funeral services for Franklin J. Illar will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 12, in the Messiah Lutheran Church, New Centerville. Interment, church cemetery. Friends were received Tuesday and will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in the Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home.
