ITELL Attorney Itell Called By Death Veteran Somerset Barrister Victim of Paralytic Stroke Last Sunday Attorney Thomas J. Itell, 78, of Somerset, died in the Community Hospital early Sunday morning, the result of a paralytic stroke and heart attack suffered last December 16. Mr. Itell was removed to the hospital when found unconscious in his law offices in the Fernet Building. He had always enjoyed excellent health up until his recent illness. Attorney Itell was born in Portage on July 4, 1862, a son of John and Mary Lucinda (Eckenrode) Itell. He was graduated from Indiana Normal School and was admitted to the Cambria County Bar more than 50 years ago after studying law with the late Attorney W. Horace Rose of Johnstown. For the past 15 years Mr. Itell had been a member of the Somerset County Bar Association and had practiced law here with Attorney J. C. Lowery. His wife, Mrs. Mary C. (McMullen) Itell, passed away November 11, 1930. Mr. Itell leaves these children: John B. Itell, Brooklyn, N.Y.; Mrs. Marie Wagner, 167 Jacob Street, and Florence, wife of John S. McHugh, 169 Jacob Street, Johnstown, and Lillian, wife of Evan B. Loyd, 773 Grove Ave., Johnstown. A son, James Itell, died in infancy. Also surviving are six grandchildren and a sister, Miss Frances Itell, Homestead. A brother, Albert Itell, died recently. The remains were removed to the H. M. Picking & Sons Funeral Home in Johnstown, where funeral services were held Wednesday morning at 9 o'clock in St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Moxham by Rev. Father John P. Manning, rector of St. Peter's Catholic Church of Somerset. Interment was in Grandview Cemetery, Johnstown. Meyersdale Republican, March 20, 1941
