Jackson, 57, of McHenry, Md., died Oct. 5, 1978 in Meyersdale Communtiy Hospital. Born in Canton, Ohio, he was a son of the late Albert Jackson and Setta (Sandera) Jackson. He was director of the Learning Resource Center at the University of Maryland for 10 years, and at Garrett Community College eight years. A first vice president and editor of the Deep Creek Lake Lions Club, he also was a member of the Maryland Library Association, Fraternal Order of Police, and was a veteran of World War II. Survivng are his widow, Janis (Robertson) Jackson; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Vickie Grew and Miss Lorie Engle, both of Salisbury, Pa.; three brothers, Elwood J. Jackson, Chula Vista, Calif.; Albet Jackson and Rolla Jackson, both of Canton, Ohio; three sisters, Mrs. Lillian Hine, Lajolla, Calif.; Mrs. vera Shaffer, Lakewood, Fla., and Mrs. Rosemary Guerry, Parma Heights, Ohio. Friends were received at the Newman Funeral Home, where services were conducted with the Rev. David fetter officiating. Inerment, Salisbury-Elk Lick Cemetery.
